TNK-BP confirmed that they are negotiating on Lotos purchasing. Vice-chairman of the board Maxim Barsky informed about it after annual general meeting.
Answering the questions, whether TNK-BP is on the short-list of potential buyers or not (allegedly, there are four companies on the list), he said: “We are interested in this asset and now we are in the process of negotiations”.
Earlier Maxim Barsky reported that TNK-BP was going to buy the whole privatizing Lotos holding of shares, which is 53%. “We will buy as much as the state sells. If the state sells 53%, we are interested in 53% accordingly”, – said Maxim Barsky.
Prime minister of Poland Donald Tusk noted earlier, that Russian companies will be allowed to privatize Lotos but probably it will be difficult for them to accept the terms of the contract, set by the Polish government. We should remind that state Russian companies “Gazprom Neft” and “Rosneft” were also interested in purchasing of Lotos holding of shares and didn’t rule out the possibility of giving joint application on privatization.
